The Conference Venue

AIIDE 2014 will be held on NC State University's Centennial Campus.  Workshops will be held in several buildings around the Engineering Quad and the main technical program will be held in the James B. Hunt Library.

Registration will be held in the mezzanine outside of the Institute for Emerging Issues Multi-Purpose Room from October 3 to 7.  A map of NCSU Centnennial Campus os available here (search for the Hunt Library). Maps will also be available onsite to attendees.

Parking

Hourly parking is available in the CRC Deck across the street from the first floor entrance to the Hunt Library. This lot is gated and requires a credit card to enter and for payment upon exit.

Daily visitor parking permits are available at the Visitor Information Booth on Varsity Drive for $5 per day.

AIIDE-14 Hotel Block

AAAI has reserved a small block of rooms at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites at NC State S.W. during AIIDE-14. Conference attendees must contact the hotel directly to make reservations. Hotel accommodations are very limited in Raleigh over the conference dates, so attendees are encouraged to reserve early.

The Holiday Inn Express property boasts an enjoyable country setting while being convenient to all the big city attractions and businesses in Raleigh and is just a few miles from North Carolina State University (the location of AIIDE-14). Parking at Hotel: Complimentary

All rooms are subject to applicable taxes (currently 6% occupancy tax and 6.75% State Sales tax) in effect at time of check-in. A guarantee of all room charges is required by credit card at time of reservation. Cancellations must be made before 6:00PM (local hotel time) on the day of your check-in. Failing to show, will result in a charge of 1 night per room to your credit card. Taxes may apply. Failing to call or show before check-out time after the first night of a reservation will result in cancellation of the remainder of your reservation.

Arriving By Air

Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) has direct flights to 38 domestic and international cities on 352 daily flights and serves over 9 million passengers annually.  The airport is located in the heart of the Research Triangle Park and just 14 miles from NC State University.  

RDU provides a number of options for local transportation, including a range of on-site rental car agencies, taxi service and transportation services (http://www.rdu.com/groundtrans/limos.htm). The easiest and most affordable option is often the taxi service available from the taxi stand available curbside (http://www.rdu.com/groundtrans/taxis.htm). Attendees can call RDU Taxi Inc to schedule a ride ahead of time at 919) 840-7277 but cabs are readily available on an on-demand, walk-up basis during airport hours.  Taxi fare from RDU to NCSU and/or the downtown hotel area is approximately $35 one way.
